List Of Tribes In Uganda : Uganda is an African country that lies within the heart of East Africa, commonly known as or referred as the Pearl of Africa. The country boasts a rich cultural heritage from the diverse traditions of numerous tribes. Uganda has over 56 different tribes were each has their own unique Language, culture, customs and heritage. all these 56 tribes within this country plays a significant role in shaping and developing the social fabric and identity of the nation.
From the proud warriors of the Karamojong in the northeast to the famously known kingdom of Buganda in central, Uganda’s tribes encompass a wide range of life style, beliefs, practices and more. Some like Baganda hold strong centralized monarchies while Batwa pygmies used to maintain ancient hunter gatherer traditions.
Each tribe in Uganda offers an amazing and impressive joinery into the country’s past as well as the present, revealing the elaborately details of its social dynamics, beliefs, and values.
Each tribe contributes to Uganda’s cultural heritage through art, dance, music, storytelling preserving rituals old centuries and passing down ancestral wisdom from generations to generations.

BAGANDA
Baganda are the largest tribe among others in Uganda were they make up over 16% of Uganda’s population ,they inhabit the central region and other few parts like masaka,mpigi,luwero,mukono and more!Baganda speaks the common language among all languages in Uganda which is “LUGANDA” the tribe has its own traditions, belief and customs with a very common and beautiful dance moves and music,Baganda’s wear “Gomesi”for women and “KANZU” for men as their traditional attire. Buganda Kingdom played a significant role in the history of Uganda and still does up to date.
BANYANKOLE
Banyankole inhabit in southwestern region of Uganda! Making up to 9.4 %population and identified as the second largest tribe in Uganda. Known for cattle herders, they hold a cultural significant role in building and forming Uganda as a country, Banyankole just like other tribes they also have their beliefs, attire, traditions and customs they speak Lunyankole as their local language and wear ‘” Mishanana” as their traditional attire.
BASOGA
Basoga tribe make up 8.4 %population in Uganda this is the third largest tribe in Uganda, they inhabit in the eastern region of Uganda along the cores of River Nile. they speak Soga as their traditional language, and “KIKOYI” as their traditional attire. The basoga’s are well known for making the most delicious chapatis within the country.

BATESO
Iteso people inhabit in the eastern region of Uganda, they are known as good agriculturalists and storytellers, they have a very rich culture heritage, iteso’s speak Ateso as their local language as other tribes in Uganda iteso’s own the own customs, belief, and traditionists’ are known for being tall and dark skinned.
BAKIGA
These are very strickt and straight forward tribe in Uganda that reside in the southwestern region Uganda they mainly inhabit in districts like kabale, Kisoro, and more, they are known for terraced farming on the hills and their rich culture heritage, they speak Lukiga as their local language which almost sound like Lunyankole for Banyankole tribe.
