Detailed 6 Days Nyiragongo Hike and Bwindi Gorillas from Kigali.
Day 1: Pick-up from Kigali & Transfer to Gisenyi.
Pick-up from your preferred location in Kigali and embark on a short city tour in Kigali where you will visit Kigali genocide center, Caplaki market and Kimironko market. Proceed with your journey to Gisenyi with lunch enroute. Once you arrive in Gisenyi town late in the evening, check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Paradise Malahide Resort/ Lake Kivu Serena
Day 2: Nyiragongo Hiking
You will depart Gisenyi early morning and cross the Congo boarder. Report to Bukima and start your Nyiragongo hike with overnight at the summit shelters where you will enjoy exciting views of the once lava lake.
Day 3: Descend Mount Nyiragongo and Transfer to Gisenyi
You will descend Nyiragongo back to Bukima by 11am and depart Congo transferring back to Gisenyi town. Check into your hotel and have lunch. You can spend the rest of the evening touring beautiful beaches in Gisenyi town. Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide Resort/Lake Kivu Serena.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Have breakfast, and then meet your driver to embark on the transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park crossing into Uganda through Cyanika boarder – only 25 Kilometers from Musanze. En-route, you will visit the twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo and have lunch in Kisoro town before proceeding to Bwindi national park. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge/ Clouds
Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Batwa Trail Experience
Wake up to a tasty breakfast in the biting coldness of Bwindi. Enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee, grab your packed lunch and head out to the pack headquarters – just a short distance from the lodge. Here, you will receive briefing about the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking in Bwindi, know which group you will be visiting and set off with your head guide.
Enter the forest in search of the Gorillas and upon finding them, you will be allowed to spend up to a maximum of hour with them.
After your gorilla trekking, proceed for a cultural experience in Bwindi Impenetrable forest guided by local Batwa guides. Learn more about the Batwa people, their culture and how their ancestors solely depended on the forest for survival. Later return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer Back to Kigali & Departure.
Have your breakfast in the morning and embark on your return journey back to Kigali where you driver/guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or directly at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. End of Tour.
