Day 1: Arrival in Bujumbura
On this 1st day of your 5 Days Burundi and Rwanda safari, upon your arrival at the airport, you shall be picked up by our Burundi safaris guide who will brief you about your safari. After, you shall be transferred to the hotel from where you shall relax as you take in the beauty and difference of Africa from your country. Depending on your time of arrival, you may go shopping for some items you may need in a mall not so far off from your hotel of stay. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Bujumbura City Tour, Transfer to Gitega, visit Gishora Drum Sanctuary
Early in the morning after a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, you shall head out into the city for a Bujumbura city tour. You will visit a number of attractions and sites in Bujumbura of historical and cultural nature like the Independence hero monument. Thereafter, you shall proceed to transfer to Gitega, which is only 2 hours away from Bujumbura. Gitega has ethnographic and archaeological collection in the Gitega National Museum as well as great colonial architecture great to look at. From Gitega, you shall visit the Gishora Drum Sanctuary and enjoy the performances of the drummers, who bring to life the cultural traditions of the people of Burundi. You shall even learn a thing or two of some of the drums, like the ones that are never played. Lunch is enjoyed at a selected restaurant. After enjoying the Gishora drum sanctuary drummers, you shall check in at the hotel from where you shall have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, evening nature walk
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you shall check out and head for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The road drive is roughly 7 hours, and is quite enjoyable with so much to see including the countryside of Burundi and Rwanda and the rolling hills of the country of a thousand hills, Rwanda of course! Stopovers are made to take in some great sceneries, and to also have lunch at a selected restaurant. You shall arrive in Volcanoes National Park in the late afternoon hours. Proceed to check in at the lodge, and relax for the rest of the evening, or go out and stretch on a simple evening nature walk in the park, looking out for birdlife of Volcanoes National Park. Day 4: Gorilla trekking
On this day 4 of your 5 days Burundi and Rwanda Safari, you shall take part in a Volcanoes National Park gorilla trekking experience, a thrilling activity that will have you being within feet away from the mountain gorillas, our close relatives. Spend an hour with them as you marvel at their giant yet gentle nature. After the time is elapsed, you shall trek back to the starting point of gorilla trekking to find your driver guide waiting to transfer you back to the lodge to have a sumptuous lunch. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and reminiscing of your earlier encounter with the mountain gorillas. You have an optional activity of a cultural visit if you are up to it.
