Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Batwa Cultural Tour

Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Bwindi

According to your location in Kampala, on the first day of the 4 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Batwa Cultural Tour, our driving guide will pick you up, inform you about the safari, and then begin the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, you will stop for an en-route lunch before continuing your journey with stunning views of the countryside, gorgeous landscapes, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, plantations, and so on. When you arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will check into the lodge for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest and Batwa Cultural Tour

After an early breakfast, you will bring a packed lunch and meet your driver guide to go to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking orientation. Following the briefing, you will begin hiking into the forest, which will take between 30 minutes and 7 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas are situated.

During the walk, you will be able to see additional primates, animals, many bird species, and plant and tree species, among others. Once the gorilla family has been located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat, where you will be able to observe them performing daily activities such as feeding, breastfeeding, playing, grooming young ones, learning about their habits and behaviors, taking photos, and recording breathtaking moments.

Following the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will return to the starting point, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. You will then meet your driver guide for a cultural Batwa tour, during which you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, and enjoy their traditional performances, among other activities. Following the cultural trip, you will return to the lodge for supper and sleep.

Day 3: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi- Canoe Excursion

On the third day of your four-day Bwindi gorilla trekking and Lake Bunyonyi safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for the travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi is Uganda’s deepest lake and the second-deepest lake in East Africa, behind Lake Tanganyika. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on an interesting boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, where you will be able to explore some of the 29 islands, including the punishment and floating islands, learn more about their history, and enjoy breathtaking views of the scenery, landscape, terraced farmlands, various bird species, and animals, among others.

After the canoe excursion, you may rest at the resort or participate in extra activities such as zip line, which allows you to hang on top of the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi, and cultural excursions, among others. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for supper and sleep.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe.

On the last day of your safari, you will have a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet with your driver guide to begin your journey back to Kampala. On the journey, you will stop for lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the countryside, Kigezi hills, and magnificent landscape, among other things. Upon arriving in Kampala, your driving guide will drop you off at any recommended location.
