2 Days Jomba Community Gorilla trekking Experience : The Jomba Community experience is a 2 day visit of the mountain gorillas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Get to cross from the neighboring Uganda to the Virunga national park of the DR Congo. The Jomba community gorilla trekking experience is a 2 day local community initiative that gives those looking for an authentic local community experience in the Virunga.
You will experience most of the time on this safari on foot as you will cross into the DR Congo on foot and leave the vehicle behind. You will be guided by the Virunga rangers from the border until you return after the activity. Get to spend a night in the Jomba Community camp which is run by the women in the Jomba community.
This Jomba community stays near the Bunagana border and you will get to enjoy a community walk through as you make your way to the park reception.

Trip Description
Day 1: Transfer to Bunagana border from Uganda.
You will start your safari from the Uganda- DR Congo border where your ranger guide will be waiting to for you. You will meet him at the Bunagana border post where you will set out to cross into the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will join the other guests headed to the Jomba community and walk on foot through the community lands and notice how a day goes by in the local community.
You will connect to the Jomba ranger post to check in for your activity and head over to the Jomba Community Camp for lunch. The rest of the day will be spent at the camp as you wait for dinner to be served. You will have an overnight at Jomba Community Camp
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking and back to Uganda.
Wake up to a cold morning and head out to the Jomba Ranger post for the briefing ahead of your mountain gorilla trekking experience in this part of Virunga national park. You will get some time to hire any necessities you may need in the forest like porters.
You will enter the forest and search for the mountain gorillas and head out into the forest for about 1 to 2 hours. Once you meet the mountain gorillas, you may enjoy the one hour with them and after head back to the Bunagana border. This is where your trip will end as you will part ways with your ranger guide and connect to your next destination.
