Detailed Itinerary for 14 Days Best of Tanzania Kenya and Zanzibar Safari
Day 1: Pickup from Arusha and Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to Tarangire national park, which is also found in the northern part of Tanzania. Tarangire National Park is known for having large herds of elephants as well as ancient baobab trees.
You will have lunch and engage in an afternoon game drive around Tarangire national park. During your game drive in the national park, you will search for wildlife species such as gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks among others as well as the various bird species, which this national park is known for. You will enjoy watching the sunset in the wilderness of the national park and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater
Your guide will meet you at your lodge after your breakfast and you will start your safari to the Ngorongoro conservation area where you will enjoy wildlife viewing experiences. You will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater where you will search for wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hyenas, jackals, hippos, zebras, herds of wildebeests.
You will also see attractions such as Lake Magadi where you will see a variety of birds such as flamingos as well as other wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. You will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park. You will have lunch in the national park and later you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti National Park. You will search for different wildlife species during your game drive such as the big 5 and many others during your safari.
During your afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park, you will look out for a variety of wildlife and bird species such as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, elands, waterbucks, kudus, lions, leopards, impalas, gazelles among others. You will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
After breakfast with packed lunch, you will go for a full-day game drive safari in Serengeti National Park. You will spot various animals, more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.
Yet even when the wildebeest migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, leopards, cheetahs, three African jackals, spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.
There are also 500-plus bird species, ranging from the out-sized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Fly from Seronera to Kilimanjaro and to Wilson Airport in Nairobi
Have breakfast in time and drive to Seronera airstrip where you board your flight from Serengeti National Park to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. Our company representative from Kenya will be picking you from Wilson airport in Nairobi and drive you to your hotel in time to check-in and have dinner.
Day 6: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve
Our driver guide reports to your hotel in the morning, with an early departure for a scenic drive down into the Rift Valley, to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s premier game reserve. You will be in your own private safari vehicle. Stop briefly enroute at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for stunning views of what is the world’s largest valley. Arrive at Maasai Mara for lunch. The afternoon game drive allows spotting of the unrivalled wildlife in the park. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
You enjoy two game drives today, one in the morning at 6.15am, before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon after lunch. As your safari is private your game drive timings are flexible, useful if you are travelling with children, or are on a honeymoon. You may also choose to have a full day game drive with a packed picnic lunch at no extra cost. Return to your camp by evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Have breakfast and then enjoy a short game drive as you exit Maasai Mara and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon your arrival in Nakuru National Park, you will check-in at your lodge and relax. Dinner and overnight stay in the park.
Day 9: Transfer to Nairobi and Fly to Zanzibar
After having your breakfast, check out and drive to Nairobi city where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight to Zanzibar Island. Arrive in Zanzibar and meet your driver. You will be driven to your hotel for check-in and later spend the rest of your day relaxing at the hotel and then explore stone town in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 10: Safari Blue Experience Zanzibar
Have breakfast in time and then head out for a boat ride where you get explore the ocean on one of the traditional Dhows. Enjoy a couple of chilled drinks, tasty food and fruits as you explore the Menai Bay. The activity begins in Fumba village and ends in the famous Menai Bay.
Later retire back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Spice Tour Experience and Visit Changuu Island
Have breakfast at your hotel resort and head out to tour Zanzibar Island. Today you will take a private boat from Stone town to Changuu island or prison Island where you will get to see the giant tortoises as well as explore the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean during your snorkeling experience.
After lunch, take a boat back to stone town from Changuu island. You will then drive to the spice farm for a spice tour where you will get to learn more about the different spices that are grown on the island. Later retire back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12 and 13: Beach Day
Wake up at leisure and spend your day relaxing and exploring the white sandy beaches of Zanzibar island.
Day 14: Departure
After your breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport where you will check in and later board your flight out of Zanzibar.
