Day 1: Pick up in Arusha, Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, Explore the park
On this day 1 of your short 2 Days Safari in Tanzania has you being picked up in Arusha, the starting point of your Tanzania safari, by our Tanzania safaris guide, who is also your driver. Your driver guide shall brief you about your 2 Days Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater Safari, and then proceed for a transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes about 2 hours road drive. En-route, you shall have a stopover at the Mto Wa Mbu market town for an opportunity to experience and enjoy the fresh produce in the market, as well as see different cultures and get to buy souvenirs if you would like to.
After a short time at the market, you shall proceed with your transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, a true birder’s paradise and home to the tree climbing lions in Tanzania. You shall explore the park extensively, with game drives to see numerous wildlife species, including tree climbing lions, buffaloes, and so much more; and bird species like large flamingo flocks gracing Lake Manyara. After an early breakfast at the lodge, you shall descend 600m into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for amazing game drives. The Nyiragongo crater floor in the Nyiragongo Conservation Area is one of the most densely populated area with an estimate of over 25000 wild animal species roaming around, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Other wildlife species you shall definitely see include wildebeests, schools of hippos, elands, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, among so many others. You shall spend a long time exploring the Ngorongoro Crater that you shall get a great picnic area to enjoy your packed lunch. After, you shall proceed to depart for Arusha.
